During the years 2026, 2027 and 2028 an extraordinary event will take place which will be visible from Spain and which will captivate the scientific community as well as the general public: the fascinating "TRIO OF ECLIPSES". Three eclipses over three years will offer unique opportunities to observe and better understand our place in the universe.
Each eclipse will have different characteristics and visibility depending on the date and geographical location... did you know that the peninsula has not witnessed a total eclipse for over 100 years and that in 2026 it will be the only populated place in the world where it can be enjoyed? Or that 2027 will be one of the longest eclipses of the century? This trio of eclipses will undoubtedly provide an exceptional window to promote astronomy and interest in science in general.
Many institutions and organisations from all over Spain will cooperate to ensure the success of this event, guaranteeing travel, prevention and healthcare, and will prepare a special informative programme to bring us closer to this incredible phenomenon: scientific culture activities, safe observations and open digital resources, among other actions.
Cultural spaces, museums and science centres, planetariums, astronomical associations, media and educational centres will also collaborate in this event and promote interesting programming and quality information about these spectacular cosmic events that will connect us with the vastness of the universe.
